Pauly Shore did not have to go very far to find standup comedy. His mother, the famed Paul Montgomery Shore, founded the Comedy Store and his father, Sammy Shore, was a comedian. Thus, Pauly was born into show business. Pauly Shore tickets were most certainly in his future and, thus, he was destined to arrive in Las Vegas and play to a packed house on the Strip.

He made his standup debut at the tender age of 17. Pauly had more than his family supporting him. He also had Sam Kinison as a mentor. Just as Sam adopted a very particular tone to complete his act, Pauly became the Weasel and became a hit on the college circuit. Channeling Jeff Spicoli from Fast Times at Ridgemont High, he adopted a combination of surfer and “dude” speak. This led to a stint on MTV and a career in the movies. Eventually that chapter of his career came to a close and he returned to the stage as a standup comedian.

Pauly Shore’s standup act has evolved, as it would be a little disingenuous to see a man over the age of 40 speaking with the same parlance. In fact, the only time he would do that is if he was doing a parody on Funny or Die. Now he talks like an adult and, in place of the voice, his material has gotten edgier. Fans across the country can see this new version of the Weasel while he tours the country in 2012.

Part of that tour and certainly many more show dates in 2013 will be located on the Las Vegas Strip. Pauly Shore was born into show business and that means he is destined to join a roster of comedians making the rounds at the showcases throughout the major casino hotels and resorts. Most recently he performed at the South Point Hotel and soon the Aces of Comedy may be calling his agent to give him a weekend at the Mirage or the booking agent at the Venetian may be trying to have him add a stop to the tour schedule.
