Sugar Ray is an American band which formed in 1986.  Starting off more as a funk metal band, Sugar Ray first gained fame in 1997 with the release of the song "Fly".  This song's success, coupled with its pop rock sound that was quite different from the rest of their material at the time, led the band to change to a mainstream, pop music style.  Subsequent albums shared this similar style, and the band landed a number of hits with "Every Morning", "Someday", and "When It's Over".

Smash Mouth is an American rock band from San Jose, CA.  Forming in 1994, the band has adopted retro styles covering several decades of popular music.  The group has performed many covers of popular songs like The Monkees' "I'm a Believer" and War's "Why Can't We Be Friends?" as well as being known for their own songs such as "Walkin' on the Sun" (1997) and "All Star" (1999).

The Gin Blossoms are an American pop rock band formed in 1987.  They broke into the music scene with the song "Hey Jealousy" from their successful major label debut, New Miserable Experience (1992), but this achievement was coupled with the firing and eventual suicide of the song's author and band co-founder Doug Hopkins, prompting the title of thier follow-up album, Congratulations I'm Sorry (1996).  After a series of charting singles, the group broke up in 1997.  After reuniting in 2002, they released a fourth album, Major Lodge Victory (2006) and their fifth, No Chocolate Cake (2010).
