Morris Day is an American musician, composer, and actor best known for being the lead singer of The Time.  Morris Day, Prince and André Cymone formed an early band while in high school called “Grand Central” before he and Cymone formed a side group after Price went solo.  The 80s were the most prolific and visible period after Day played the antagonist to Prince in his feature film Purple Rain and Graffiti Bridge.  Winning fans with his eccentric presence, exaggerated vanity and strutting bravado.  This persona was further used to accentuate Day’s personality on song’s such as “Chili Sauce” and “If the Kid Can’t Make You Come” from the album Ice Cream Castle. You can find Morris Day and The Time tickets here for all of their upcoming shows.  Day’s most popular singles from that album are “Jungle Love’ and the Rufus Thomas influenced “The Bird” both hits on the urban and pop radio stations.   His 1990 dance-funk “Jerk Out” from their album Pandemonium, was a #1 on the R&B charts.  Morris Day continued to be a sensational concert draw through the late 90s, his revamped lineup of The Time, was comprised of originals Jellybean Johnson on drums and Monte Moir on keyboards.  Day has several appearances on screen including a brief but memorable part in Richard Pryor’s Moving, as well as appearing in Andrew Dice Clay’s 1990 film The Adventures of Ford Fairlane.  In 2011, Morris Day and The Time performed “Jungle Love” on Kevin Smith’s hit feature film Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.  As well as a variety of other TV appearances.  Morris Day has influenced popular culture with his unique personality and flair his image and brand has been copied and referred to by a variety of famous personalities, a song called “Morris Day” appears on the album Felt, Vol. 2: A Tribute to Lisa Bonet by the hip-hop group Felt. Day has a released ten studio albums if you include his solo work along with his collaborations.
