Minus the Bear is an indie rock group which formed in Seattle, WA in 2001.  They have releases four albums and four EPs.  Minus the Bear consists of Jake Snider, Dave Knudson, Cory Murchy, Alex Rose, and Erin Tate.  The name "Minus the Bear" comes from an in-joke among the band members, referring to the 70's television series, B.J. and the Bear.  Without going into too much detail about the actual story, it involved one of the members and a date they went on.  Many of you will be able to put it together from that snippit of information...

With catchy song titles like "Hey, Wanna Throw Up? Get Me Naked", "Monkey!!! Knife!!! Fight!!!", and "Lemurs, Man, Lemurs", it's hard not to be at least a little bit curious about this Seattle-based band.  Though the song titles may lead one to believe that they're a novelty act, Minus the Bear provides polished, shrewdly arranged songs.  Finger-tapped guitar riffs mixed with catchy melodies and unexpected time changes always keep listeners interested and entertained.
