Once a touring production that performed at the Radio City Music Hall in New York City, Madrid Arena in Spain and the Kremlin State Palace Theatre in Moscow; Zarkana’s newly imagined performance combines unique imagery with mind boggling acrobatic performances. You will see everything from artists walking on a high wire, while dodging a swinging pendulum ball of fire to performers soaring through the air on a flying trapeze! And that’s just the beginning; early on in the show the Atherton twin brothers fly through the theater on aerial straps and later on, watch as the "snake lady" sprouts from a pile of coiled snakes while infinite serpents surround her slither across the massive LED screens that frame the stage! Don’t forget the spider woman you recognize from the Zarkana posters displayed on the Strip; she will descend from the roof and sing hanging upside down while performers entertain on the flying trapeze! Of course, the finale will amaze you as a 15-person team of acrobatic performers launch each other into the air to perform flips and other awe-inspiring tricks before landing in a human net!
Described as “One of the most spectacular Cirque shows”, one fan insists this performance has “Great music, great visuals, and a GREAT size theater. I was in the sixth row center, though I'm sure there is not a bad seat in the house. I highly recommend this show! I especially liked the sand artist! What a talent. I've seen several Circque shows. This is my favorite!” Another raves, “Zarkana is a classic show with an extreme edge. Very good to watch and will have you sitting at the edge of your seat for the duration.” Take the advice of millions and “Run, don't walk to get (Cirque du Soleil – Zarkana) tickets” in Las Vegas now!
Cirque du Soleil’s Zarkana has had a bizarre journey, being forced to take up residence in the Radio City Music Hall in New York because it proved the only venue in the city capable of holding its stage. Then it went around the world to Moscow, and now it has come back to the United States to familiar territory for a Cirque production, Las Vegas. Cirque du Soleil Zarkana tickets debut for a residence at the Aria Resort and Casino in 2012, taking over for the departing Viva Elvis.
Equally bizarre and moving is the incredible inspiration for the story. A combination of the words “bizarre” and “arcana”, Cirque’s Zarkana follows Zark on his journey through an abandoned theater on a quest to regain power now lost and bring back his assistant, whom he loved dearly before her demise. This is a theater inhabited by many an intriguing creature. There are strong men performing incredible feats, acrobats spinning around the stage in oversized hula-hoops, and great mutated creatures coming to life and reaching great heights.
The show requires an incredible singer to portray Zark as well as talented contortionists, strong men, and acrobats. He must contend with the attention the incredible stage draws. Three massive hand sculpted arches dominate and play a powerful symbolic role during the trek. The entire set is designed as inspired by the Art Nouveau movement and the acts have actually been chosen to accent the set, not the opposite.
In the end Zarkana takes Zark to a mad scientist where his fate and his great love’s fate is determined (oh there are aliens too!). The show has earned rave reviews on tour, astounding critics in New York, Moscow, and Madrid. It arrives in Vegas and opens on November 1, 2012, though given its set and its odd but immensely entertaining performances it would seem much more appropriate for an opening Halloween night. However, Cirque Zarkana tickets come a days later, and this production will play twice nightly with 90 minute shows each performance.
