Las Vegas is excited to welcome back the Vegas Rollers for their second season in the World TeamTennis (WTT) league. The tennis team will be playing their home games at the Orleans Arena, where the WTT playoffs were held last year.
“The Vegas Rollers had the largest in-stadium attendance and broadcast viewership in WTT recorded history,” said Carlos Silva, CEO of World TeamTennis. “The support of both the Las Vegas community and team operations was one of the best in the league in the team’s first year and we can’t wait to see year two.”
The current headlining roster includes Bob and Mike Bryan, the brothers who have won 118 titles, 16 being Grand Slam championships, Sam Querrey, who won 10 singles titles and reached the Wimbledon semifinals in 2017, and Asia Muhammad, who won four WTA doubles titles. The team is led by head coach Tim Blenkiron and assistant coach and music superstar Redfoo. Last year, the team finished in 5th place with a 6-8 record, and the team hopes to bring the WTT trophy to Las Vegas in 2020.
“With this being the last season of our career before we retire, we are so grateful to finish strong in Las Vegas, the home of our Team Bryan Youth Program and a place of so many special memories,” said Bob Bryan. “We love Las Vegas, and last year was by far the best WTT season we have been a part of.”
