People will need peanuts and Crackerjacks for the 2020 Big League Baseball Series Tournament coming back to the Las Vegas Valley after it’s year absence. The last weekend in February and early March, four MLB teams will compete at the new Las Vegas Ballpark, home to the Vegas Aviators. Fans can purchase tickets today for single games or all both weekends at VegasTickets.com/BigLeagueWeekendSeries.

In an interview with the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Aviators President and COO, Don Logan stated, “We are excited to welcome back Big League Weekend to Las Vegas Ballpark, this year will feature four great teams over two weekends of Major League Baseball for a total of four games.” The Ballpark will also welcome their major league affiliate team, the Oakland Athletics.
During weekend one, Feb. 29 – Mar. 1, fans can enjoy watching the Cleveland Indians compete against the Oakland Athletics. During the 2019 season, the Cleveland Indians finished second in the American Central League with an overall record of 93-69. Their competitor in the Big League Game, Oakland Athletics, also finished 2nd in the West AL league with a record of 97-65.

For weekend two, March 7-8, the Cincinnati Reds will take on the Chicago Cubs in an epic Central National League battle. Both teams had a very close 2019 season, with the Cubs placing third with an 84-78 record and the Reds placing fourth with a 75-87 record.

Since 1993, Vegas has welcomed Major League baseball teams to the city for the training series. Last year, the anticipated weekend of baseball games were canceled due to the new Vegas Ballpark being under construction in the city of Summerlin. The tournament will mark the first time the series will take place in the new stadium. The stadium now features a pool area fans can rent out for games and events, as well as a luxury VIP seating experience.

However, the Vegas Ballpark does not limit itself to baseball. The Vegas Golden Knights have teamed up with the park for VGK watch parties. In addition to sports watch parties, the park also has movie night premieres were attendees can enjoy an outdoor movie experience with friends and family.

This major sports event has the city questioning a new major league baseball team joining the Las Vegas Valley. Back in 2018, rumors circled about big-time investors’ efforts to bring MLB to Sin City. However, no such expansion team creation or team moving has been confirmed by MLB or the City of Las Vegas. Until then, baseball fans can enjoy the Spring Training Series in Vegas, for tickets visit VegasTickets.com/BigLeagueWeekendSeries.
