The National Finals Rodeo has grown so popular that it’s known as, The Super Bowl of rodeos. And it has been held at the Thomas & Mack Center for the last thirty years. Las Vegas Events, the nonprofit promoter of the National Finals Rodeo that’s held every December at the Thomas & Mack Center has extended its deal to hold the event at the arena through 2024, according to a news release. The very first NFR was held at the Thomas & Mack Center in 1985 and has since become a December tradition in Las Vegas with this year’s event set to run from Dec. 3rd thru the 12th. There was rumor that Las Vegas Events was looking to move the popular event to the new arena being built on the South end of the Strip but decided against it. Citing Thomas & Mack Center as a better venue for the rodeo than the AEG-MGM arena because the design of the arena fit the rodeo because of good sight lines and two entrances that allow for easy access for the rodeo’s horses and other animals. Get all your NFR tickets here for this year’s event to save time and ensure you have your spot reserved to come out and see The Super Bowl of rodeos at The Thomas & Mack Center located on the grounds of the University of Las Vegas. They will be renovating and upgrading the arena to the tune of $72 million, including widening the concourse, adding more bathrooms and concession stands and finding new ways to improve on traffic flow to handle the recent influx of patrons. This last year the event at Thomas & Mack Center reached an all-time attendance record of 177,565 over the course of the ten-day series. Over the last three decades the popularity of the NFR in Las Vegas has only grown. Fans were very happy to hear of this deal between Thomas & Mack and Las Vegas Events that mirrors the deal between Las Vegas Events/LVCVA and the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association.
