The UNLV Runnin' Rebels basketball program is a NCAA Division I men's basketball team.  Their most recent appearance in the NCAA Tournament was in 2011 when they received an at-large bid to the tournament, earning an 8-seed in the Southwest Region; they lost to 9-seed Illinois in the second round.  As of 2009, UNLV is the fourth-winningest program by percentage (.712) in Division I history - ranking behind Kentucky, North Carolina, and Kansas, but ahead of UCLA and Duke.

The UNLV Rebels football program is a college football team that is currently a member of the Mountain West Conference, which is a Division I Bowl Subdivision (formerly Division I-A) of the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA). The program which began in 1968, is currently led by head coach Mike Sanford and home games are played at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.
