Calzaghe vs. Hopkins

Undefeated Welsh fighter Joe Calzaghe (44-0) will take on Bernard Hopkins (48-4-1) in a light-heavyweight bout. The longest reigning title-holder in boxing history, Calzaghe unified the super middleweight titles by beating Mikkel Kessler (40-1-0) by unanimous decision on Nov. 3, 2007, adding the WBA and WBC belts to his collection, along with the WBO title, which he has held for over 10-years. At a news conference on Jan. 23, the 35-year old said he's looking forward to moving up to the heavier weight class and facing Hopkins, 43, for his first fight on American soil. Coming off a win over Ronald "Winky" Wright (55-4-1), Hopkins marks a big step up for Calzaghe, who has struggled to make a name for himself outside of Britain. Still, "The Pride of Wales" says he's ready to slug it out with a heavier opponent on enemy turf.
