Steve Martin is an American actor, comedian, writer, and musician best known for his witty humor and physical comedy. Born in Waco, Texas in 1945, Martin began his career as a writer, penning comedy material for television shows such as The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour. He later went on to become a stand-up comedian, gaining fame for his absurd, slapstick style. Martin also starred in numerous comedy films, including The Jerk, Planes, Trains and Automobiles, and Father of the Bride. In addition to his work in comedy, Martin is also an accomplished banjo player and has released several albums. He has won multiple Grammy Awards, Emmy Awards, and Academy Awards throughout his career, cementing his place as one of the most influential comedians of all time.

“An Evening You Will Forget For The Rest Of Your Life”.

The title of the show is probably underselling the experience by a significant amount. As much as this pair of legendary comics might want to downplay the night with their self-deprecating humour, the style of the show means it will be quite memorable. The chance to see the pair in person is enough alone to ensure that many fans won't forget the night in a hurry. For the most part, this Martin Short and Steve Martin show is built around the “an evening with...” concept. Fans have the opportunity to come to a legendary venue to see these two performers talk about their careers, influences and experiences within the industry. The great thing about having both stars sharing the stage is that these recounted memories become deeper conversations, with added details and perspectives. These long-time friends can bounce humorous stories and one-liners off each other for hours to provide an entertaining retrospective of their comedy lives. In addition to the conversation, there is promise of stand-up routines and film clips.

Conversation and entertainment with The Two Amigos

There are probably more than a few people who are looking at this line up and thinking that something, or rather someone, is missing. While a Three Amigo's reunion would have certainly been the cause for great celebration among fans of the film, and the trio's work on 'Saturday Night Live', perhaps it is best that this show focuses on this duo. This pairing allows for hilarious conversation between two stars of comedy and plenty of sharp, off-the-cuff back and forth interactions. A third wheel could complicate matters, especially one with a reputation like Chevy Chase. There is still a great chance that he will be there in spirit, however, providing subject matter for jokes and anecdotes about the pair's time on set and the highs and lows of show business.

Steve Martin and Martin Short are legends in the comedy and undoubtedly have plenty of stories to share about their time in the industry. If you are just a Steve Martin fan, you can come to Las Vegas to enjoy his comedy and stories in person and get the added bonus of Martin Short – or vice-versa. Both men are giants in the comedy scene – more figuratively than literally in the case of Short – and have impressive filmographies behind them. In addition to 'The Three Amigos' and 'Saturday Night Live', the pair have been in many movies and TV shows. Steve Martin, who began his career in the late sixties, was the king of comedy in the 1980s, following the success of 1979 film 'The Jerk'. Some of his biggest hits include 'Planes, Trains and Automobiles', 'L.A Story' and 'Father of the Bride'. Short, meanwhile, was a major player in classic 90s comedies, including 'Father of the Bride II' and 'Mars Attacks'. More recently he starred in 'Frankenweenie' and 'Arrested Development', showcasing his voice talent and physical comedy respectively.

It's a Steve Martin show, so expect a few banjos in their somewhere.

Younger fans of Steve Martin will be familiar with two aspects of his work – his classic comedy films and his musical career. Because of this, it should come as no surprise that there is also a musical element to this show. It wouldn't be a Vegas Show if it wasn't all-singing and all-dancing. Musical guests for the evening are Steep Canyon Rangers. This North Carolina Bluegrass band was the obvious choice for a musical interlude because they have performed with Martin in the past. This group has a long career of their own – although not nearly as long as Martin or Short – having formed at college in 2000. From 2009, they worked with Steve Martin during his own experiments with the genre and collaborated with him on 'Rare Bird Alert'. Their solo album the following year won the Grammy for Best Bluegrass Album and they continue to perform to captive audiences. Although they can clearly command the Vegas stage in their own right, don't be surprised if Steve Martin joins in.

This show promises to be an unusual but unmissable event for Caesar's Palace.

This evening with Martin Short and Steve Martin takes place in one of the most famous and sought after venues in Las Vegas – the Colosseum at Caesar's Palace. This 4300 seat theatre provides an intimate, yet lavish experience in a fantastic casino complex for a great weekend of entertainment. This show is a one-night-only affair for Caesar's Palace. Instead of holding on for a residency and selling out a run of shows in this grand venue, the duo are taking this show on the road and Vegas is just one of their stops.

Catch this one off show while you can.

If you are in Las Vegas on March 6th and you want to catch a show with a difference, “An Evening You Will Forget For The Rest Of Your Life” could be a great choice. Despite the implications in that name, this should be an unforgettable evening of comedy, conversation, music and all-round entertainment from two multi-award winning legends of the comedy world. The careers and experiences of Steve Martin and Martin Short mean that they are ideal partnership for this sort of show, and their relationship and humour means that however scripted and organised the show may be, it could easily veer off the rails for a truly unique experience. Catch them at the Colosseum this spring and create your own amazing showbiz stories.
