Steve Byrne is an American stand-up comedian who was born to a Korean mother and an Irish father, which constantly provides him with an inordinate wealth of comedic material.  He studied theater at Kent State University and was exposed to stand-up comedy by working at the comedy club, Caroline's, in New York City.  The first time ever got on stage was at Stand Up New York on September 30, 1997.  He spent the next seven years being absolutely obsessed with getting up on stage as much as he could.  In 2003, he filmed the documentary film, 13 or Bust, where he did 13 shows in one night are every comedy club in Manhattan, breaking the record for most sets in one night by a comedian.

Steve has made the rounds with the late-night talk shows as well as having several specials on Comedy Central.  His most recent one-hour special, "The Byrne Identity", was filmed in 2010 and received rave reviews.  During the special Byrne's younger brother, William, was in the audience and on leave from Iraq while serving in the US Army.  His father and brother have both served in the Army and Steve is a huge supporter of the US military having done more than 5 USO tours in foreign countries.

Steve Byrne has toured the country and the world with many different musicians and comedians over the past ten years, most recently during the summer of 2011 with Lisa Lampanelli, Gabriel Iglesias, and Russell Peters.  He is currently touring to prepare for his third one-hour special to be filmed sometime in 2012, tentatively called "Shoot the Locks Off".
