Sam Lowry Hunt was born on December 8, 1984 in Cedartown, Georgia. He grew up playing football which landed him a position on the University of Alabama’s team where he graduated with a degree in business economics in 2007. After graduating Sam was given the once in a life opportunity to try out for the Kansas City Chiefs, however after months of unsuccessfully trying to impress the team he took his side hobby of music a bit more seriously and began to pursue it as a career. 

After starting off his career as a co-writer for well-known musicians Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban and Billy Currington, Sam finally released his debut single “Raised on It” in September 2013. A month later he released a 15-track mixtape titled Between the Pines through his website. In early 2014 he signed a recording contract with Universal Music Group Nashville, which lead to the release of his debut EP X2C, which ranked as number five on Billboard’s Top Country Albums. 

Sam’s debut studio album Montevallo was released on October 27 of 2014. The album included the singles “Leave the Night On,” “House Party,” “Break Up in the Small Town,” and “Make You Miss Me” all earning top spots on the Billboard Charts. After the release of his album, Sam announced his first headlining tour which sold out in hours. His next single wasn’t released until September of 2017. Two more singles were released before Sam took a hiatus from social media and music, however while after his performance in Calgary, Alberta Canada at the Bud Light House Party, Sam announced a new album was coming. He released two more singles, before announcing his second album Southside would be released on April 3, 2020.
