Louis Szekely, known professionally as Louis C.K., is a stand-up comedian, television and film writer, actor, producer, and director from Washington D.C..  He currently stars in the FX comedy series, Louie, which he also writes, directs, and edits.

Louis's first time on stage was at a Boston, MA comedy club open mic night in 1984.  Louis found that he only had enough material to stay on the stage for two minutes.  Having a terrible first experience, he didn't try comedy again until two years later.  After much struggling and humiliating failure, Louis became a part of the burgeoning Boston Stand-Up comedy scene.

Louis has had several appearances on the late-night talk shows as well as a half-hour and two one-hour specials on HBO.  His awards include the Grand Prize at Aspen Shortfest for "Ice Cream" in 1993, an Ace Award for best variety show (producer) in 1997, and an Emmy Award for best writing on a variety show in 1999.
