The world of UFC, the Ultimate Fighting Championship, is ever changing one thanks to its combination of seemingly weekly MMA title bouts held throughout North America. While this might be a slight exaggeration, it is one of the many reasons UFC tickets are among the most popular in not only Las Vegas, the domestic capital of entertainment, but throughout the international fight universe. The most recent fight schedules are the Ultimate Fighter 16 Finale on December 1, 2012 and UFC 155: Don Santos vs. Velasquez II on December 29, 2012. Both events will be held at the octagon at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.

The Ultimate Fighter 16 Finale will feature a war of wills between teams coached by Shane Carwin, the current interim UFC heavyweight champion, and Roy “Big Country” Nelson, the top heavyweight contender. Obviously, these two fighters’ rivalry in the octagon will be played out with teams set for not just a battle, but a war.

Perhaps an even bigger event than a night of bout after bout and taunts being yelled from opposite sides is the Santos-Velasquez match. This is a heavyweight championship battle royale between Brazilian heavyweight champion Santos and American challenger Cain Velasquez. UFC tickets Vegas for this fight have been highly coveted since the rumors of a rematch were proven true. Fans are watching and re-watching the videos of the first fight on YouTube in preparation for one of the biggest fights of the year, fittingly set just before New Year’s Eve.

Las Vegas has been home to the UFC the very early days, just as the city has served as the most important city for boxing. Early on, fans filled the rooms to watch Royce Gracie, the representative of the famous Brazilian fight family, fighting the world most impressive fighters of every size and every discipline. Since these days of yore when fighters like Ken Shamrock and Patrick Smith served as American heroes in the ring, rules have been added. Yet, despite the adoption of weight classes, the sport has become even more popular and even more entertaining. Now, with its place in the world of sport unquestioned, the UFC has made Las Vegas its home for something that has evolved from a side show for a niche audience to a main event for millions of fans who attend every local event and spend evenings watching the fights on television.
