The Oak Ridge Boys Tickets Las Vegas
The Oak Ridge Boys are an American country and gospel vocal quartet. The group was founded in the 1940s as the Oak Ridge Quartet and they became popular in southern gospel during the 1950s. In the 1960s, they changed their name to the Oak Ridge Boys and remained a gospel-oriented group until the mid-1970s, when they changed their image and concentrated on country music.
The lineup that produced their most well-known country and crossover hits like "Elvira", "Bobbie Sue", and "American Made", consists of Duane Allen, Joe Bonsall, William Lee Golden, and Richard Sterban. Aside from a 7 year gap when Golden was away, this group had been together since 1973 and continues to tour and record.
In 2009, the group released a new studio album, "The Boys Are Back", which featured reimagined versions of songs by John Lee Hooker, Neil Young, and the White Stripes. During a July 2011 performance of the Friday Night Opry, Little Jimmy Dickens announced that the Oak Ridge Boys will be the newest members of the Grand Ole Opry, effective August 6, 2011.
