Shows Biography - Steve Wyrick
The show opens with an explosion of sound, dancing and lighting effects before Wyrick appears on stage along with a full size AS350 helicopter. He explains that he hopes to show everyone real magic as if they were six years old again where everything is filled wonderment, curiosity and surprise - feelings you are sure to experience during the show.
Unlike other magic shows, Wyrick's illusions are purposed by his real life experiences. He mentions spending time in an airplane hanger with his father before he effortlessly walks through the spinning turbine of a 747. Sparks fly and Wyrick reappears unscathed. Sexy dancers, dazzling costumes and an eclectic soundtrack with everything from John Mayer to Rob Zombie are woven throughout the show between Wyrick’s mind- boggling illusions. One minute he is standing on stage and the next he appears somewhere else in the theater. At one instance he even appears right in the middle of the audience.
He combines box tricks, classical magic, and death-defying stunts all flavored with his down-to-earth personality and comedic way of interacting with the audience. Wyrick’s high fashion sense and black faux-hawk offer a more contemporary and hip view of magic that appeals to audience members young and old. He does not wear the classic tuxedo and ruffled shirt like some other magicians on the Strip. Instead he sports designer jeans, a stylish shirt and black boots. There are various times in the show where Wyrick relies on audience participation. This could be a viewed as risky with the unpredictability of what someone might say or do. However, Wyrick appears prepared for anything with his constant comedic comebacks to every imaginable audience response.
Throughout the show, he keeps the audience in suspense at what he will do next. Everything from sawing a woman into pieces and even making a woman materialize in a tank of water are demonstrated in his show. It ends with a big bang as Wyrick makes a 12-ton Lear Jet 35 suddenly appear on stage. His show is a spectacular demonstration of how in Vegas you can expect the best yet still managed to be surprised and amazed at the grand scale of things in this city.
Steve was recently awarded the prestigious Merlin Award as Magician of the Year from the International Magician's Society, the world's largest magic organization. Shipping All tickets are generally shipped via Federal Express and may be shipped as late as the week of the event. Sometimes, hotel or local delivery is available for a similar charge. If tickets are electronic, arrangements may be made to receive them via email for a similar charge.
