The pride of Hannover, Germany, the Rock Band Scorpions has been dazzling audiences since 1965. It was that year that guitarist Rudolf Schenker founded the group and they have been going almost non-stop ever since. Through good times, temporary breakups, periods of experimentation, the group has always been an innovator in heavy metal music.

Schenker and bandmates enjoyed modest success in Europe during the late 60's. It was the 1970's that launched the team on its way to stardom with release of the albums Fly to the Rainbow, In Trance and Virgin Killer. These early successes garnered both fan and critical acclaim and poised the group to capture a global audience.

Lovedrive, released in 1979 is considered by many as the quintessential Scorpions album. They found their sound with popular singles like "Loving You Sunday Morning" and "Always Somewhere." A quick follow-up release, Animal Magnetism led to a incredible growth in their fan base. Their cover art had always caused some controversy, and Animal Magnetism was no different. Featuring a shot of girl kneeling in front of a man holding a Doberman, the publicity, coupled with a strong sound quickly propelled it to Platinum sales status.

They enjoyed enormous success, but their global superstardom was cemented with exposure on MTV and the release in 1984 of Love At First Sting. The hit "Rock You Like A Hurricane" quickly became a commercial, critical and video phenomenon. It sparked the immense global popularity that the group still enjoys to this day.

After a string of releases through the 80's and 90's, the band proved its staying power and popularity with the 2004 release of Unbreakable. It was a critical success and heralded a return to their heavy metal roots. A new generation fans "rediscovered" them with the release of the mega-popular video game Guitar Hero. Two of their most enduring classics, "Rock You Like A Hurricane" and "No One Like You" were featured and reenergized their fan base.

After a brief retirement, the Rock Band Scorpions continued to dazzle audiences with live shows. Anchored by Schenker, they still headline concerts and music festivals around the world. The unmistakable and enduring sound makes this group a true legend in heavy metal music.
