Ron White is a popular, prolific American stand-up comedian. Born in Fritch, Texas in 1956, he became an active entertainer during 1987. His genres include observational and country comedy, as well as satire. Among his main influences are several well-known, accomplished comedians. They include Cheech and Chong, Sam Kinison, Bill Hicks, George Carlin, and Jeff Foxworthy.

As a young man, he served in the U. S. Navy. During his tenure, his comrades gave him the nickname, Tater Salad, because he loved potato salad. His ongoing efforts to raise funding to assist wounded soldiers earned him the Patriot Award from the Armed Forces Foundation in March of 2009. A month later, Texas officials designated April 27th as Ron White Day throughout the state.

 His stage persona is a Southerner, fond of Scotch and cigars. He was a founding member of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour. The group toured together from 2000 to 2006. The troupe's other members included Foxworthy, Larry the Cable Guy, and Bill Engvall. They became known as the four good 'ole boys. Their successes on the road prompted the release of a live album in 2001, and a DVD in 2003.

Among the performer's solo releases are the following. "Drunk in Public" was released in 2003, "You Can't Fix Stupid" in 2006, and "Behavioral Problems" in 2009 are among his solo DVD projects. In addition, he released "They Call me Tater Salad" during 2005, and "Tater Salad" (also known as "Busted in Des Moines") during 1990.

He has also made appearances on many compilation albums. Among them are "The Southern Gents of Comedy", presented by Comedy Central in 2006. During 2005, he participated in two projects, the "Redneck Kings of Comedy", as well as the "Redneck Comedy Round-up". Additionally, he made an appearance on the 2004 release, "Live from Las Vegas", which also featured Foxworthy and Engvall.

Ron White continues to perform to enthusiastic audiences today. He has been nominated for many awards, and continues to produce popular DVDs, albums and live shows.
