Pink Tickets Las Vegas
The album has dropped and now Pink has to contend with critics and dedicated fans clamoring for a world tour. Well, the critics have nothing but praise for The Truth about Love and they have joined her millions of devotees in demanding to see this brash singer with her heart open and bleeding on her sleeve live. For those in Sin City, that means waiting until February 15, 2013 when the Mandalay Bay Events Center is turned into ground zero for the throngs of emotionally malcontent fans and their Vegas Pink tickets.
The new album is not a musical evolution driven by a performer reaching a new stage of life. She may have reconnected with a man who once drove her crazy, married, and had a child. She may have patched things up with the mother who threw her out of the house as a teenager. She may have enjoyed life a great deal and matured as a person, even showing a little love for Miley Cyrus instead of taking the opportunity to bash her on national television (Miley is fighting her own battle with the Disney vision of her career). Rather, Pink is still a performer driven and inspired by the calamity and friction that shaped her through life. Thus, times may be good for her, but they are not great for others and she is inviting those huddled masses to join her during the Truth About Love Tour to listen to a new collection of songs about struggle and strife.
So far the album has two singles, “Blow Me (One Last Kiss)” and “Try”. The songs seem at odds with each other. The pop-rock “Blow Me” seems to be begging for a break up while the more AC-friendly “Try” has the singer equally desperate to work things out and overcome the difficulties of the passion that seems to drive the relationship. Pink is not a Disney performer mixing her messages to create radio hits, but an artist exploring the erratic emotions of her kind of love. One best called passionate and one driven by both the word’s meanings, sometimes sensual and desirous and other times tempestuous.
Though her personal relationships may be rocky, her relationships with her fans are nothing less than immensely grateful. She will thank them with a rocking performance on February 15, 2013 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center, a fitting venue for Pink Tickets in Vegas as it is the home to all the major boxing and mixed martial arts events on the Strip. Who knows, perhaps Pink may make the octagon part of the stage.
