John Pinette is an actor and stand-up comedian.  He has toured the comedy club circuit since the 1980s and has appeared in cinema and television.  Besides regular stand-up, Pinette also does impressions of The Chipmunks, Elvis Presley, Gollum (from Lord of the Rings), Herve Villechaize (Tattoo from Fantasy Island), an Ewok, actor Marlon Brando, as well as various ethnic accents.

John Pinette originally left a job as an accountant to pursue a comedy career.  He started out as a stand-up comedian and got his big break when he was asked to tour with Frank Sinatra.  Later, Pinette acted in films such as Junior starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Dear God with Greg Kinnear.  He was also a guest star in the two-part finale of the Emmy-winning television show, Seinfeld.

Pinette is a former American Comedy Awards Stand-up Comedian of the Year, has appeared on The Tonight Show and The View, and his second Comedy Central special "Still Hungry" will air later in 2010 as a follow-up to his hit Comedy Central special "I'm Starvin".

In 2004, Pinette joined the touring cast of the musical Hairspray in the role of Edna Turnblad.  He later went on to the Broadway production in 2005, and continued in the role until May 2006.
