Dennis Miller comedian specializes in stand-up comedy routines which span several genres. Among them are surreal humor, black comedy, witty word-play, observational comedy, and political and news satires. His subjects are varied, and include American conservatism, libertarianism, pop culture, current events, and American culture. This talented comic is also an actor, talk-show host, political and sports commentator, radio personality and author.

Among his personal influences are George Carlin, Dean Martin, Jay Leno and Richard Belzer. He has a style which has been described as acerbic, laid-back and brooding. His stand-up routines and monologues frequently feature metaphors and similes which involve allusions to obscure things, places and people. He is passionate about language, and specializes in stream-of-consciousness diatribes and rants.

Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in November of 1953, he began his career at age 22. His breakthrough came in 1985 when the producer of Saturday Night Live (Lorne Michaels) caught his stand-up routine at the Comedy Store in West Hollywood, California. Michaels hired him as an anchor for the Weekend Update skit, where he remained until 1991.

Following his tenure at Saturday Night Live, he launched his own late-night talk show. Among other elements, this self-titled, alternative program featured cutting-edge musical groups which were not given exposure on the traditional late-night shows. The in-house band was led by former Police band-member, Andy Summers.

This dynamic performer has hosted the MTV Video Music Awards, and appeared in several commercials. He has been a special guest on many television programs. Among them are the Daily Show, The Norm Show, NewsRadio, SportsCenter, Real Time with Bill Maher, Hannity and Colmes, Boston Public, and The O'Reilly Factor. His late-night guest appearances include visits to The Tonight Show, The Late Late Show, and Late Night with David Letterman.

Emmy Award-winning Dennis Miller comedian continues to perform at venues around the globe. They include several 2011 bookings in Las Vegas. Among them are shows at the Silver Legacy Casino and the Showroom in the Orleans Hotel.
