This is not poolside at the Bellagio. It is poolside at the O Theatre inside the Bellagio. Cirque du Soleil O is the one of the most impressive aquatic shows in the world so it is fitting Cirque du Soleil O tickets are only available at the world capital of entertainment, Las Vegas. Sit by the pool after sleeping late during the day and end the evening (or start it) by finding a seat close to the water and being amazed by a combination of incredible acrobats and aerialists, superb synchronized swimmers and divers, and  hilarious clowns.

It all sounds like a scene out of a surrealist dream and it is just as it seems. The set transform from a 25-foot pool holding 1.5 million gallons of water to an island without as much as a ripple in mere seconds between acts. The production celebrates enough elements to make Captain Planet a fan, with water, fire, and air put on display in these 11 scenes. The show obviously emphasizes the water aspect though, as the show derives its name from a play on the French word for H20 (eau).

Equally as inspiring as the performances and the incredibly trippy costume designs is the theater itself. Despite being located inside the Bellagio, it is a recreation of a 14^th century European opera house. Fittingly, O Cirque du Soleil’s design of the theater and the invocation of a show directly from the mind of surrealist artist Max Ernst or Latin American writer Gabriel Garcia Marquez speaks to one of the most common themes in the Cirque house, the cycle of life and culture. In this case the surrealist costumes and bright colors juxtaposed to the gothic architecture challenges the imagination as intensely as any of its sister shows.

The production is appropriate for audience members over the age of five and has two shows scheduled from Wednesday to Sunday at 7:30 and 10 pm. Cirque O tickets are a chance to enjoy an incredible Vegas event featuring 85 performers and 150 people working behind the scenes to cultivate the magic. This is one of the longer Cirque productions, lasting 105 minutes instead of the 90. But those extra 15 minutes are truly something to be prized as the senses are challenged by this dreamscape.
