Cirque du Soleil Ka is indeed a special show. It is a demonstration of incredible athleticism, ingenious stage design, and nonstop action sequences over the course of 90 minutes without the utterance of a single word. Cirque du Soleil Ka tickets are an opportunity to enjoy a theatrical production worthy of a summer blockbuster shot in multiple locations around the world, but instead requires an entire theater built over the course of two years inside the MGM Grand for a residence at the Ka Theatre.

This Cirque production is unique in many respects. Performances and setting aside, the most notable is the plot. This is unique in that Ka is not an extension of a theme, but an actual story. In it, Imperial Twins embark on a coming of age journey, engaging in 14 scenes, each leading into the next with a climatic fight or transformation. It is all about the ability to reside in conflict or to choose to create, and as such, fire is the one thematic element present in each of the scenes.

These scenes take place in perhaps the most intriguing set design of all time. It is a platform suspended in air with a cauldron of smoke below. The main characters, their sympathetic supporters, and their enemies arrive from the air, from the pit, and any other direction as long as it is not from behind a curtain on the direction “stage left”. The stage is changing for each scene, at one point it is an island, in another it is the sheer drop of a cliff almost completely vertical, and in others it is a mountain.

The performers are required to have a diverse set of skills to enable the production. Some are martial artists, some are aerialists, some are gymnasts, and some are clowns. Overall, the onstage crew numbers 80, though it takes an additional 220 to morph the stage and direct the technical effects.  Cirque Ka is one of the most inspiring endeavors ever conceived and completed by the Cirque du Soleil and it took an incredible amount of confidence by the owners of the MGM Grand to make Cirque Ka tickets a reality in Las Vegas.
