Blue October

The name Blue October, just doesn't sound right, does it? When you think of October, you think of orange and leaves. Blue would be something that would go with a month in summer or spring. That's the greatest part about the band though. The name has a little twist to it, so you would think the band would have a little twist to it as well. It turns out that the band twisted in the right direction.

Blue October is from Houston, Texas and was formed by Justin Furstenfeld, his brother Jeremy, and Ryan Delahoussaye. They were later joined by CB Hudson and Matt Noveskey. Sounds like a regular band, right? The twist comes in with their music and their shows. The band's shows are said to be fantastic and that's just describing their shows. Their songs explore subjects like mental depression, drug use, love, betrayal, and forgiveness. They have a little bit of everything sprinkled in.

The path they took to success is confusing, but they still do get to that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. They originally signed with Universal, but was dropped because Rock on the radio wasn't a great thing at the time. Brando Records was there to pick them up and they started picking up airtime in Texas. As they started to get popular, Universal actually offered another signing deal with them and they accepted. See, wasn't that an odd thing to do.

After many tours, Blue October hit a wall and could not get any airtime or tours. Finally they booked a tour in 2005 and they found out their audience was even bigger than before.

Well, they must be doing something right because they are coming to Las Vegas and will be playing at the Brooklyn Bowl. Prepare yourself for a epic show with fantastic music.
