Billy Joel Vegas TicketsBilly Joel Las Vegas Concert Tickets

Billy Joel and Las Vegas has a lot of things common. Both has unique styles, and they almost always deliver when it comes to good times that are hard to forget. It’s only natural that those two forces of nature will meet up on April 30, 2016, so the legendary musician can give a concert in the brand new T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Looking at the venue and knowing Joel’s qualities as a musician, the event could very well could turn out to be an unforgettable evening. One shining, beautiful arena one of the original American music icons. Sounds good, doesn’t it? But why should you get a ticket?

Joel, one of the pioneers of American music

Born on May 9, 1949 in the Bronx, Joel catapulted himself into the music elite at the tender age of 24. That’s how old he was when he released what turned out to be one of the biggest hits of all-time. The single called “Piano Man” dominated the charts, making Joel the third best-selling artist in the whole country among the solo musicians.

Early influences

As a child, Joel was influenced by the 50’s and early 60’s music styles, with special emphasis on rock and roll and rhythm and blues. His favorite bands included not just the legendary Beatles, but also the Drifters and the Four Seasons. He himself preferred the somewhat lighter melodies and songs that had a true meaning with easy to understand lyrics. The last push towards a career in music was seeing the Beatles on live television during the Ed Sullivan Show. Joel later said that he identified with the band members’ and thought he could create music in a similar way. It turned out to be true.

The Echoes

Joel’s first band was the Echoes in 1965. It was music producer Snuff Garrett who wanted Joel. He was only 16 at the time. Only a couple months later upon joining the band, the Echoes had several name changes. First they changed it to Emeralds then later to Lost Souls. After just two years, Joel left the band for another music group called the Hassles.

The Columbia Years

Without a doubt, the most impactful years in Joel’s career happened between 1973 and 1976. After signing with Columbia, Joel released his first – and possible best, but definitely most impactful – solo album called Piano Man. The rest is history. The single with the same title became a legendary hit, owning the charts for months. Many fans think that more than 40 years later, it is still Joel’s most honest and best work, although with so many great songs it is certainly hard to decide.

The next studio albums

Joel’s next album was called the Stranger, which has become a huge financial success cherished by the critics and fans alike. It landed in the Billboard top 25 and became the musician’s first top 10 album. The song called “Just the Way You Are” won all kinds of awards for him, including the Grammy for the best song. Joel’s next album was highly anticipated and it did not fail to deliver. There were more than 7 million copies sold, making the 52nd Street number one on the Billboard chart. Some of the most famous songs from the album are: “My Life” and“Honesty.”

The 1980’s

Joel always had a way with his piano. Several of his big hits were piano-driven pieces which resulted in some critic accusing him of being a “ballader”, which is not as flattering in music circles as one would think. Regardless, getting tired of those voices, Joel decided to make his next studio album a little bit different. Called Glass Houses, the fourth solo album of his career was praised for its different, harder style and it was also a commercial success like the vast majority of the things Billy Joel ever did. The album enjoyed a six-week stay at the top of the charts with hits such as “You May Be Right” and “Don’t Ask Me Why”.

Moving to R&B

After already releasing various hits and having great success in the music industry, Joel did something extraordinary in 1983, releasing his next album with R&B and doo wop elements, once again offering something truly different to his fans. What do you know, it worked. The album called An Innocent Man reached the no. 4 position on the chart but it did even better in the United Kingdom, peaking in the 2nd position. Some of the big hits from the album: “An Innocent Man”, “Leave a Tender Moment Alone”, “Keeping the Faith”. Naturally, an Innocent Man was also a commercial and critical success.

The T-Mobile Arena, a worthy location

There are several multi-purpose arenas in Las Vegas, but for a concert like this, there is no better venue like the T-Mobile Arena. A brand new stadium that just opened a couple weeks ago, on April 6, 2016. There is something cool about the fact that one of the newest and greatest arenas in the world (but certainly in America) will host one of the greatest American musicians who did so many memorable things in the industry. Those who fear that they will become hungry before or during that potentially amazing music experience, can already lean back and relax because the arena has its own dining spaces. A memorable experience is almost certainly guaranteed.
