Kobalt Tools 400 Tickets Las Vegas
The Kobalt Tools 400 is a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series stock car race held annually at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The inaugural race was first held in 1998. For several years (2001-2008), the race was sponsored by United Auto Workers and DaimlerChrysler. During that time the race was known as the UAW-DaimlerChrysler 400 to reflect Chrysler's partnership with then DiamlerBenz. After Daimler sold Chrysler, the race became known as the UAW-Dodge 400. From its inception through 2008, the race was run at a distance of 400 miles (640 km).
Carroll Shelby International took over as sponsor for 2009 and 2010, with the 2009 race adding 27 miles (43 km) as part of the sponsorship in honor of the Shelby 427 Cobra. The 2010 race was known as the Shelby American, or the Shelby 427. Lowe's, through its Kobalt Tools subsidiary, became the race's title sponsor for 2011 and now the race is known as the Kobalt Tools 400.
The Las Vegas race is unique for its championship belt offered instead of a traditional trophy, owing to the city's "fight capital of the world" image.
Some past winners include:
2012 - Tony Stewart
2011 - Carl Edwards
2010 - Jimmie Johnson
2009 - Kyle Busch
2008 - Carl Edwards
2007 - Jimmie Johnson (also won 2006 & 2005)
