Cynthia Ann Stephanie famously known as Cyndi Lauper will be touring Vegas comes on 8th of October 2016 which will be on Saturday at The Joint, Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. The iconic song writer, actress, songwriter and activities is expected to rock Las Vegas with music to the fullest even as she continues to sell out and showcase her new album called Detour released this year. The gig will begin at 7pm in the night as many plan to flock in to the Venue to be hit by the entertainment that will be pulled down by the American artist. Lauper has travelled the journey of music and entertainment in general and has illuminated her career in music with hard work and passion. Her talent has seen her rise to fame above all odd s. The award winning artist and actress has grown steadily in her career and though she is not that young and jumpy as many would want her to be she still commands masses by doing what she knows to do best. Coming from a miserable situation of her step father abusing her amd going to live on her own and fending for herself has displayed her to be a strong woman who will do whatever it takes to get to where she wants to be.
Lauper's family and background
Born on the 22nd of June 1953, at the Boulevard hospital in Astoria, Queens, New York city, the American pop and rock artist grew up in Ozone Park. Her family was Catholic but unfortunately the parents divorced as early as when she was five years old. Her father was German while her mother is an half cast of an Italian and American. Lauper has two siblings, a brother and a sister. As Cyndi grew she loved listening to music made by artists like The Beatles, Judy Garland, Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald. Lauper began to write songs and even play an acoustic guitar that her sister had given to her. The stage name "Cyndi" came as a result of her friend who advised her to spell it that way and not the normal way,"Cyndy" that many would expect. She loved expressing herself using various hair color and wearing eccentric clothes as way of wanting to have her portion of attention and also uniqueness. Lauper attended Richmond Hill high school and was expelled after which she later took off to Canada and then Vermont to study Art at Johnson State College. At that time she had to work doing odd jobs just to support herself. In 1970s Cyndi used to perform on stage as a vocalist with different cover bands like the Flyer in the New York metropolitan area but she still wasn't feeling fulfilled with that. Cyndi damaged her vocals and had to take a year off from singing as the doctor had discouraged her that she would never sing again but with the assistance of a vocal coach called Katie she later regained her ability to sing. Cyndi is married to David Thornton a md they have one child. They got married in 1991. She has been actively involved in pop, rock, new wave, synthpop blues and soul music from 1977 to date.
Lauper's music career development
Lauper has been in the music industry for more than 30 years now, which is no easy feat as most musicians will tell you today.The debut album She's so unusual became the first album to chart through four top-five hits on the Billboard Hot 100 and the four songs included; time after time, she bop, girls just want to have fun, and all through the night . These four songs made Lauper scoop the award for Best New Artist at the 27th Grammy awards in 1985. She continued to be among the top cream as her second record, True colors album produced yet another hit song that was called True colors and Change of heart which was number three in the rankings. Since '89 to date Cyndi has released a total of nine studio albums and also engaged herself with other projects. In 2013 Cyndi took home the Tony award for Best Original Score for composition of Broadway musical Kinky Boots which brought to her great honour as the first woman to win that category by herself. Kinky Boots was also awarded five other Tony's which included Tony Award for Beat New Musical. Lauper kept the good work going on and in 2014 yet again scooped the Grammy Awards for Best Musical Theatre Album.

Her success ia stipulated by the many awards she has won at the Emmy's, Tony's, the Grammy's,the New York's Outer critics circle, MTV video music awards, Billboard Awards and the American Music Awards (AMAs). She has had the honour to be one of the few singers who have won three of the four major Awards in the American entertainment platform. She has also used her fame and voice as an entertainer to serve humanity by doing and supporting humanitarian work and advocating for liberty to the rights of the marginalized groups including the lesbians, gays and the transgender in the United States. Lauper composed a song for the Serbian movie, Here and there which had her husband David Thornton as the staring. Tracking back, Memphis Blues which was Cyndi's 7th studio album was released on June 22, 2010 and appeared on the Billboard Blues Albums chart as number one and as number twenty six on the Billboard Top 200. The Album remained number one in the chart for 14 consecutive weeks and led to Memphis Blues being nominated for Best Traditional Blues Album in the Grammy Awards for 2011.
