The largest event of it’s kind; the Las Vegas Convention Center will be packed with world’s widest variety of merchandise. Celine Dion announced last month that she would have to cancel her shows at Las Vegas’ Caesars Palace until June 9th due to an illness. Celine Dion said in a statement on Monday that she had received good news from her doctor in Los Angeles during a follow up exam. She says that she should be fully recovered sometime in April and hopes to start recording songs for her new English and French albums. Celine Dion returned to Las Vegas a year ago with a three year contract. Her shows are one of the most popular in Las Vegas and she hopes to continue her performances for the sell – out crowds at Caesars. She is recovering from a virus that caused an inflammation of her vocal cords.
March 24th Saturday, presents the “Run Away with Cirque Du Soleil”, hosted by Cirque du Soleil and Springs Preserve. It is the 11th annual 5K run and one-mile Fun Walk day event. Race day registration will begin at 7am, activities start at 7:30am, and the 5K run and one-mile Fun Walk will begin at 8:30am. Mayor Carolyn Goodman will be there to sound the gunshot start and Nevada Public Radio’s President and general manager Flo Rogers will emcee the event. All proceeds will go to supports the educational and environmental-sustainability programs at the Springs Preserve. The event puts an emphasis on the importance of freshwater and management of freshwater sources. All in all, it is a great way to get some exercise support the Springs Preserve and have a great time with Cirque du Soleil.
Tourist and locals head on over to Freemont street anywhere between March 15-18, Thursday-Sunday, and enjoy free concerts all weekend long. Tribute bands Vegas U2 and Red Hot Chili Peppers will be there, or if you are feeling a little more Irish you can enjoy Celtic music. Special appearances including, Finnegan’s Wake and Whiskey Galore, on March 17th for all the people looking for some traditional Celtic music.
The transition of the property will be effective April 1, 2012 with renovations of the new nightclub and day club. The new owners are bringing the famous New York Bagatelle Champagne brunch. Original in Las Vegas but made famous in the New York Meatpacking district. Bagatelle “never to early to party” theme is enhanced with the beach day club. “Following the successful opening of STK at the Cosmopolitan, we are extremely excited to expand our footprint here in Las Vegas with Bagatelle”, says Jonathan Segal, CEO of The ONE Group.
