Tell me what you get when you take Las Vegas, throw in a cup of the Palms Hotel, sprinkle it with Play Boy and Hugh Hefner, and then mix it in with a big bowl of 30 Seconds To Mars. Well, you would get my experience on April 9, 2010.
I’m a big 30 Seconds to Mars fan, so when they announced that they were planning their This Is War Tour to go through Las Vegas, my jaw dropped. How convenient that I live in California and Vegas is just a hop, skip, and a jump away. Now the only thing that would make it a perfect trip would be to have someone to go with me. I had no problem convincing my friend to come with me.
We decided to stay at the Luxor, how many times can you sleep inside a pyramid with a big spotlight at the top? Thank god for cabs though, we could not walk that whole way. When we got close to the Palms, we saw that there was a party for Hugh Hefner’s birthday. Maybe we should have stopped by to give him a birthday kiss.
When we got into the theatre, we saw that it was packed. You could not believe how many people were there. When 30 Seconds to Mars came on stage, the whole crowd went wild. To hear the music in person was euphoric and that made the trip worth while. There was even a rumor going around that Hugh Hefner made his way to the theatre to see 30 Seconds to Mars.
After this experience and going back home and adjusting back to my normal life, I later find out that 30 Seconds to Mars will be back in Vegas in May at the Paris Hotel. The best part about this is that I have a boyfriend now and will be able to share this great experience with him and I’ve always wanted to go to Paris, this is probably the closest I can get for the time being. Oh là là!
