Barbra Streisand, the celebrated legendary music icon, actress and filmmaker, is expected to grace the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas come Saturday, 6th August 2016. This is her first return to Las Vegas in four years, after her last concert, and her first performance at the T-Mobile Arena. Barbra Streisand is branded as one of the highest-selling female recording artists of all time. Barbra who began her musical career in 1962, in Broadway, with her hit jam “I Can Get It For You Wholesale”,is a celebrated legend known for her famous hits such as “It Had To Be You” and “Send In The Clowns.” Over the years, she has mastered the screen and stage art performance. This year, will see her rare appearance on the screen and stage of Las Vegas, where all is speculated are electrifying performances that will give Las Vegas even more life. 

The 74-yaer old music icon, whose name is already on most of the “residency” wish list of casino promoters in Las Vegas, will see the audience entertained with most of her career and hits from her coming album dubbed “Encore: Movie Partners Play Broadway.” Streisand, who is one of the best –selling female artists of all time, has partnered with some of the Hollywood’s celebrated starts to sing her Broadway classics, in her upcoming new album. Her last record- breaking song was released in 2014, and now “ENCORE: Movie Partners Sing Broadway”, is her third Broadway album following her prior two multi-platinum albums, “The Broadway Album” in 1985 and “Back to Broadway” in 1993. Her Broadway album is expected to do just as well as her prior albums and the Las Vegas concert is well likely to elevate its status. 

Streisand is the only female recording artist with the longest span of number one albums recorded in history. She has a record of 52 gold, 31 platinum and 13 multi-platinum albums in her entire musical career. In all of history she is the only woman who has made it to the All-Time Top 10 Best Selling artists of all time, an honor that includes some of her other duet partners such as Billy Joel and Elvis Presley. In just under 50 years, Streisand has recorded the longest span of number one albums in history, an honor celebrated by very few female artists today. Her records stand as one of the most celebrated musical pioneers in the legendary books of entertainment.

Streisand’s live performances are very rare, however, her performances never disappoint. Any Streisand tour is often met with great excitement, and attracts a crowd like no other, making her concerts sold out after such a short time span after the release of the tickets. Her sizzling performances and intimate songs that seem to speak to the emotions of the audience are the reason for their great success. After a 27-yearr live-performance hiatus, Streisand’s 1994 world tour performance garnered a record –setting of about 5 million phone Ticketmaster requests and all tickets were sold out in the first hour. Streisand’s last concert performance was at the MGM Grand Garden back in November 2012. She has only limited performed in Las Vegas on three occasions. In 1969, she performed; at the inauguration of the International now known as the West-gate Las Vegas, in 1993, she performed on New Year at the opening of the MGM Grand Garden, after a 27-yaer live-performance suspension, and performed on the same grounds again in 2012. 

Streisand’s last tour performance in 2012, dubbed BACK TO BROOKLYN, saw an emotional performance as this was her first return to her home town Borough, since grade school. This was her first Brooklyn show, which successfully saw in the inauguration of the brand Barclays Center. According to New York Times, Streisand’s Brooklyn performance was praised for conveying a very primal human longing in form of a beautiful sound in music. The Los Angeles Times added that, she has the ability to put the audience into a spell of her beautiful sounds and folksy grandiosity. They added that “she is not just a start but a world view with the highest possible thread-count sheets.” 

Streisand’s Brooklyn Tour broke records all over Europe, and in two other spine-tingling climax performances in Israel. The audience loved and even cheered her even before she started performing. The crowd became even more charged when her perfect beautiful pitched notes came out of her mouth. According to the crowd all her notes were indeed very perfect. 

Barbra Streisand is recognized widely as an icon in a number of entertainment fields. She has achieved unprecedented accomplishments as a recording artist, producer, actor, director, concert performer, songwriter and author. For her successful works, Streisand has received 2 Oscars, 5 Emmy's, 8 Grammy's, 10 Golden Globes, a special TONY award in 1970 and 2 Cable ACE Awards. She is the only artists to ever receive honors in all the fields of endeavor. In November last year, she received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Barrack Obama. Her other honors include: 2 Peabody Awards, American Film Institute’s Lifetime Achievement Award, the National Endowment for the Arts Medal and French Legion d’Honneur. She is celebrated as the first female film director to ever receive the Kennedy Center Honors in history. 

Streisand is a re-known devoted philanthropist who tirelessly works to defend what she believes in. She has founded the Barbra Streisand Women’s Heart Center at Cedars-Sinai, which raises awareness on women’s heart disease- one of the leading causes of death in women. Her childhood was mixed with misfortunes from her fathers death which led to poverty in their family and it is this that pushes her in helping out.
